Bless Him

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to Him and to bless in His name, to this day. Deut 10:8

Minister to the Lord, by blessing His Name. To bless means to:

To make holy by religious rite; sanctify.
To make the sign of the cross over so as to sanctify.
To invoke divine favor upon.
To honor as holy; glorify: Bless the Lord.
To confer well-being or prosperity on.
To endow, as with talent.

Honor Gods name as holy. We are not to take it in vain or profane it through our actions or disregard. The word bless actually comes from the Germanic noun meaning Blood therefore it literally means to consecrate with blood or sprinkle with blood. The word Blessing now takes on a much deeper meaning and we can better understand the sacrificial blood of Jesus. How much more, since He has so greatly blessed us, should we bless His name today!
