Hi, my name is Jenny Murgueitio. I am a thirty-six year old single mom of two whose names are Cory and Carmen.

I became a member of the body of Christ October 27, 2006.

At the tender age of sixteen I started using cocaine. I became hooked the very first time I used the drug. It took me

down a long and dark path of destruction. I wasn’t raised in a Christian home. My dad was an alcoholic and it

seemed that my mom stayed angry all the time. I often heard her say, “If I could do it all over again I would not

have any kids.” Needless to say I felt rejected and unloved. So when my boyfriend introduced me to cocaine I

found my “god”. I used for twenty years. I became a thief, I became a prostitute, I lied, I cheated, I did whatever I

had to do to get my fix for that day. Cocaine dominated every part of my being. At first it seemed harmless, but the

more I used, the more I had to use. You see, sin had taken control of my life. On some days it seemed as if I were

outside my body looking in. I became desperate. My life was out of control. I lost my job and my home, and came

very close to losing my kids. I ended up sleeping on the back porch of my parent’s house. I came to the end of

myself, so to speak.

There was nothing left of me except death, or so I thought. I began to cry out to God. I started telling myself that

there’s got to be more to life than this. I was determined to stop doing drugs. I got a job and stayed clean for three

weeks. October 26, 2006, which was on a Thursday night, I slipped up and got high. The next day I went to work

so very disappointed in myself. That’s when God sent a precious lady named Christine into my life. She came over

to me and shared her testimony of how God had delivered her from a six year addiction to cocaine. She invited me

to a women’s conference that Robin Bertram was having at a local theater that very night. She said, “You don’t

have to worry, I’ll pay for your ticket.” That was an amazing night for me. I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

When I raised my hands to heaven and surrendered my life to Jesus it was at that moment that I realized I had been

set free from the hands of the enemy! The Spirit of Christ came into my heart and flooded me with love, joy, and

peace. I felt so loved and so accepted. I knew I had been changed. I felt as if the whole world had been lifted off

my shoulders. Hallelujah! Praise God I have been redeemed. He has forgiven me and made me a new creature in

Christ.

Now I am an active member in the East Roxboro Church of God. I have ten times more than I had before. My

home is paid for, my car is paid for, and I am a CHILD OF GOD WHO HAS BEEN SET FREE. My goal in life is

to let people who are in bondage know that JESUS CHRIST is real and His blood will set you free!

Oh, and by the way, my dad received Jesus as his Lord and Savior last year! Glory to God!
